What is the Orff Schulwerk?

Orff Schulwerk understands music and dance as fundamental elements for the individual and collective growth of all people and societies. It is committed to making music and movement an essential part of the formation of the human being. 

It seeks to facilitate the practice of music and dance as cultural habits within everyone’s reach, developing the social dimension of music and dance through group practice. Using exploration, play, improvisation, composition and the interpretation of texts, songs, dances and instrumental pieces, he works to develop a rich, profound and creative musical thought. Seeks to encourage the perceptual, creative and communicative capacities of people through vocal, instrumental and corporal expression.

After 10 years of uninterrupted work as Orff Catalunya Group, integrated into the AOE (2010-2020)-during which numerous formations are organized, summer courses and self-training days-the Orff Catalunya Association is legally constituted in July 2020 with the main objective of continuing to publicising the ideas of the Orff Schulwerk and provide a quality training and self-training programme in Catalunya.
